In August of 2023 I began my interest in the newly established and not yet fully functional senior dog rescue in Akron, NY appropriately called "White Whiskers Senior Dog Sanctuary" which is to be a 25 dog free roam facility manned completely by volunteer staff and funded via donations. The facility began taking in dogs in December of 2024 and I began volunteering immediately in an administrative capacity slowly transitioning to one where socialization of the dogs and care was the main focus. We visit on a weekly basis and give a few hours of our time each Sunday and hope to do more as the weather improves. For now here is some photos of the residents on hand....

Update: After nearly 100+ hours of active volunteering thus far in 2025, I have taken on a more active role. At this point I hope to begin helping with new volunteer Orientation sessions and I have also taken on the responsibility of transitioning from all paper records to an online shelter management system called Shelterluv. This system is used by large animal shelters throughout the US and is very detailed. Our example is below and can be an embedded iframe or custom API.
